*** EVENT ***   March 16th, Friday 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. - Girls' Night Out in Mohican. Enjoy a night on the town with your best girl friends! The ever popular event starts at 3:00 PM and runs until 9:00 PM! So get your friends together and book a room or cabin at any participating lodging facility. Enjoy facials, lots of pampering, in store sales and specials, lots of refreshments and drinks! This event is for ladies of all ages!


February 2007, Congratulations to Thompson Memorials in Perrysville for winning the Mohican Area Growth Foundation's Business of the Year award. Thompson Memorials was chosen for the recent growth of their business and continued investment in Downtown Perrysville--the hometown of owner Bo Thompson. The annual recipient of this award exhibits commitment to contributing to the local economy through sales and employment growth, as well as service to the local community and its residents.

February 2007, Congratulations to Jerrilyn Leckrone, executive director of the Loudonville-Mohican Chamber of Commerce, and her husband, Dave for being presented with the 2007 Community Service award for their ongoing support of community events in the Loudonville area.

December 2006, Dennis Miller, regional president of National City Bank in Ashland is the new President of the Mohican Area Growth Foundation. Jim Gribble is the immediate past President.

December 2006, The Mohican River has been officially designated as a State Scenic River by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. This designation coupled with the designation of Wally Road as a State Scenic Byway offer additional opportunities to promote local tourism.
